Nokia and Verizon working on “exciting things” according to Stephen Elop
At the moment it seems that AT&T is the only carrier in the US that offers the Nokia Lumia 920 on contract, while other carriers will only be able to offer up variants of the Lumia 820. Given that the Lumia 920 is Nokia’s flagship device with some pretty impressive specs and features, we’re sure that non-AT&T customers are pretty bummed at this exclusivity. Well the good news is that perhaps AT&T’s exclusive on the Lumia 920 might not be for long as according to Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop in an interview with CNET, he claims that Nokia has restarted its relationship with Verizon and that the Finnish company is planning a lot of exciting things for the carrier at the same time. It was not specified as to what exactly these “exciting things” entailed, but the Nokia Lumia 920 being offered on Verizon, or at least a variant of the device, certainly wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination. Either way we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more information, but what do you think about the Lumia 920 making its way onto Verizon – yay or nay?
I have the 920, left Verizon to get it! Love the phone. Would say the more the merrier to getting Verizon onboard. More Windows Phones likely means more and more apps, plus happier customers using the best phone out there!
Verizon will release a new flagship Lumia, which I believe is the right way to go. This will be a new top model from Nokia, and it's the right decision if you really want to push sales. Even though people love the Lumia 920, they're not going to want to buy a phone that seems old.
