Tom Warren, who is the Verge Microsoft correspondent, has tweeted this enigmatic tease, saying those who want a high end Nokia Lumia on Verizon will be “happy soon”.
A slim, light and metallic Nokia Lumia flagship has been rumoured, and it would not be surprising to see a new flagship handset show up exclusive on Verizon, possibly announced at Mobile World Congress for release 4-8 weeks after.
Do our readers think the announcement of a new high end Windows Phone will damage Nokia Lumia 920 sales, or is this strategy of rapid releases exactly what Windows Phone needs? Let us know below.
I am guessing since ATT screwed up ads etc for the Lumia 920 that the current thinking is to work out all the kinks with the ATT version and then upgrade for Verizon who actually does much better PR work than ATT. I would not be surprised if this phone is also the lighter version they have talked about... not making any major changes inside would make it easy to bring out by April. After using the 920 'brick version' since it came out, I have gotten to really like the extra weight. I also dropped it once from eye level with only a minor scratch on the side. I dropped a previous Iphone from waste height and ended up with a major crack.
I did end up getting the Amazon $6.98 case for the Lumia 920 which weighs nothing but gives the phone a nicer grip, making it easier to hold.
The ATT exclusive of the 920 ends in a few months. The new cases will be used for the 920's also. I have mixed feeling about changing the cases. For those who do not know, the Lumia's are almost bullet proof when dropped.
