I really believe that Nokia's problem TODAY is NOT that they are missing a great new phone, they have plenty of those in the portfolio already. The real issue to be solved today is the supply constraint, if there is one. Eventually and hopefully it's just a corporate communication flaw....?
Many potential buyers and probably also business customers are upset about those supply shortages, can't hear anymore this great Marketing slogan " we are out of stock, demand is outstripping supply".
Why, Why, Why......if this is really such great demand, give figures how great January sales really were, everything will immediately calm down. Why should they risk to lose many, many long term investors, who I'm sure, bought already a lot of those great Lumias. I don' get it......
The supply issue is really disheartening and frustrating for Nokia investors and I'm sure would be customers who choose another phone because they can't wait a couple more days or weeks or they can't find their choice color of Lumia and decide to buy their second best choice of smartphone. The shortage thing and stupid sold out online and in stores is something ELOP needs to be fired...after all, the buck stops at ELOP.China Mobile customers are having the same shortage and sold out problems of Lumia as Europeens and North America. This is what I find unacceptable as a Nokia investor.
