we have AdDuplex’s February issue of Windows Phone usage stats show that Nokia continues to dominate the WP market. According to the report, Nokia has a 78% share of the market, compared to HTC’s 14% and Samsung’s(PINK:SSNLF) 6%. What is reassuring for the company is that in the past three months, Nokia has managed to gain a couple of percentage points in market share at the expense of Samsung, as has HTC.
Elop stated that the first goal is to reach double digit markeshare of smartphones sales.
Even if he was talking about Lumias AND Ashas, it still long way to go considering that Nokia sold only ~35 million in 2012. So at least double sales number to 70 million.
If he was hoping that WP8 will get to double digit marketshare then YoY growth have to be huge - from ~13 million Lumias last year.
And I really hope that he did not speak about double digit marketshare goal as a long term goal - say 5-10 years but 1-2:)
