Today Forbes provided an important insight into somehing we have all along discussed in this board. Asha is a glowing and growing power.
Who were to think that barely a year ago, Samsung has to revamp it's entire basic line to face a serious growing threat from Asha. Now it is official Samsung is revamping its basic division under Rex. However again for those of us based in Asia, we already know that Samsung , Rex line or whatever, will have difficulty unseating Nokia. Asha did not only had a strong headstart and is entrenched but among emerging markets, Nokia remains by far most powerful brandname (source Hindu Times) with staunchly loyal consumers and carriers.
Told this here b4, Asha is a great succes, to give you an example, here at home my 3 kids have Asha's and the same for their friends,it's a lightweight smartphone for little money and the quality is Nokia, not Samsung garbage that many have tried but tossed in the garbage. Nokia will be 20$ next year. Good luck on the holding :)
Yes it is telling isn't it. Samsung is panicking .
Literally overnight, Nokia has regained it's pre eminent ooting. I just did my own little research an realise that Asha is almost 2 trikes cheaper than the cheapest of all Samsung Androids in a store in Asia, and worst, the Samsung hand set feels really really cheap.
