with 5 new phone models shipping out and two new 'flaships' their share should have doubled in 3 months.
this type of modest bounce is indicative that the current models aren't getting it done. somehow china share is lower than end of year. that is a disaster.
they need to get their head out of their #$%$ and get real. either come up with designs that are as light and vibrant screen sizes as Samsung, or get out of the business. the OS is still not polished enough for anything but early adopters.
The "flagships" you refer to have either just recently come on the market or in the case of T-mobile and the 925 in Europe not even started to be offered. Things are looking very good for NOK and should pop up above $4 soon. And if MSFT is smart they will offer $7 to $9 and buy NOK soon before they have to pay $15 to $20.
Statcounter is useless in my opinion. They cannot accurately determine a Windows 8 phone using Internet Explorer in desktop mode and confuse the mobile mode user agent more often than not. It is 100% useless. It is the (Bernie Madoff of counters)same as a Stockbroker that says they are buying stocks with an investors money and does not actually buy the stocks.
Do you have other alternatives? At least it shows a trend. I don't know how they calculate share but the results seems to show a trend consistent with my expectations. It also showed Apple losing share outside the US, which is what I expected.
