    • One of the absolute best apps which uses bar code scanning is MyFitnessPal.

It's an all-around app to track everything about your health and fitness goals. When you add a food to your diary, you can choose to scan barcodes off the food's UPC. It works for thousands of foods in many different countries. The food database is community supported so if you scan something the app cannot look up, you'll be prompted to add nutritional data from the product label,

    • I used it in Costco & Target and it worked. The Target scan saved me a lot because Corel X5 was cheaper on Amazon. Please provide the name of the app you are using. There are more than one. I want to test the on e you say does not work. You can send feed back on that app to Microsoft or Nokia via the feedback on your phone. If it does not work, they will fix it. They listen to even the little problems.

    • See if Red Laser has a barcode scanner for WP8. It's great on Android and iOS. If they have it for WP it will be the one to have. 
