...have sent the price much higher even if the talks failed. What was the offer? It must have been higher than $5 or why even talk? And it shows NOK is undervalued, (actually way undervalued) . As to the "dead weight" businesses, what is that fool refering to? NSN is a great and growing business. The patent royalties are anything but "dead weight"! HERE has much value and even the feature phones can not fall much from here and can make money in third world. When will NOK get its due?
Well they have beaten expectations for the last 4 quarters so I think all we need is for them to beat on revenues overall, feature phone sales, smartphone sales, margins and of course Profit! After that they just need to keep improving the numbers so that analysts and investors 'expect' the company to do well. There is still too much doubt out there and I'm one of those that is cautiously optimistic... we'll see shortly.
Right, but that's my point about NOK not getting the respect, or benefit of any doubt, that they now deserve. It is clear really that things are moving very much in the right direction for NOK, yet that has not moved the stock price which should easily be over $5 by now. The should not have to post great numbers before it moves as then NOK will deserve $10. MSFT should buy all or part of NOK now for $8 or more.
Nokia is earning respect and the bottom line results will soon follow. But NOK does deserve to have a higher share price at this time and has not gotten the respect it deserves (so far) from the market for the value of NSN and its patents. The fact that MSFT does want to buy them should alone have the shares higher. Ballmer is tough to deal with and that was shown by the fact that he could not even buy YHOO when he tried to over pay and then could not get a deal done even when YHOO lost 2/3 of its value and was a sitting duck.
One of first time I really agree with rambo. Reason I invested in nokia is because it has huge upside with minimal risks. If they fail, (which I really doubt) it will be sold above current pps, if they have good solid quarter, it will rise above $5. If they consistently get good numbers, sky is the limit.
