remember what happened in advance of 4Q 2012 Pre-release...

The day prior to the release, price was driven down from 3.91 to 3.75, triggering a lot of people to sell. Next day, it opened at 4.45. There are a lot of forces at work here...

    • Actually, they should be called "evil" forces. lol

    • I remember that day because I made a ton of money buying into that drop and the next day my calls went over 800%. I also bought today at 3.98. Look at my old posts you'll see what happened. The thing is, Nokia is a much stronger company then it was back then. Get ready for the next six months people.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • To your point, the mm's are capable of anything, I have seen this time and time again and often seems to make no sense. Unexplained drops often have no more significance than the mm jockeying for position.

Honestly I believe the mm's are as confused as anyone about price directon and have no better info than we do, but they can maneuvre through it much easier with the help of naked shorting.

Friday is option expiry, based on where the price has been and also that big buyers have not driven this to 4.50 and they may have exhausted their horde of shares, they are probably thinking 4.00 options should expire worthless at this moment which can change.

MM's may need to reload which means bringing the price down to accumulate shares for a possible runup Thursday am. Down today does not mean down on Thursday. If the Nokia report and guidance is great, the price runs up until mms run out of shares, then it is up to the institutions to pry shares from retail shareholders which will not be easy maybe causing further pps appreciation. If the report is just good they will probably hold the price long enough to dump their shares and burn option holders on Friday. Monday is a new day and 4.00 is the bottom, onward and upward.

These mm's keep all options open based on the current sentiment so they make money right up to the last second. Best scenario is a great report and great guidance, then we won't care about the game that is played daily. Still long and will be thru earnings. I am sure they are reading this board gauging sentiment and could be a regular poster. My opinion.

      Sentiment: Buy

    • i wish i could just turn away and come back on Thursday morning, but I have no restraint.

    • Well said...

      Sentiment: Strong Buy
