Nokia needs and absolutely deserves more support and help from MS. If growing presence and leading position in mobile devices world is important to Microsoft, they should spend a lot more on marketing and promotion of Nokia smart phones. Do not delay MS ! Do it rigt now as time is a critical factor. Duopoly already tells the world that the "WORLD DO NOT NEED YOU" and Win Phones (Nokia) that there is no room for you. that global costumer already voted and rejected you. That you and Nok are condemned to irrelevancy. You act like a drank who lost his way home. Time to ACT NOW.!
It will be interesting to see how MSFT deals with their 12% haircut on Friday. Last I looked they still had 68 billion in cash, 89% stashed overseas. Lots of options to rebuild their mobile business.
If future was entirely in Nokia's hands, then, no doubt, Nokia would have produced devices both, based on WP8 and Android. Just imagine L1020 Android only and then based on two OS, Android and WP8. We may only worry about production capacity limits in this case. Sky is the limit potential (theoretically of course) Then, you name the PPS. You think $20, I would say, more then that.
NO, Microsoft needs to step up. NOK does not have the cash or low interest credit that MSFT could easily supply and if they and MSFT want to get WP8 moving MSFT has to step up with some serious promotion. They are stupid not to have already done so.
If MS will not intensify marketing of mobile devices based on W8/WP8 OS immediately their competitors/enemies objectives will be achieved. So, eventually MS will be pushed into irrelevance.. and Nokia at best left with Networks. Notice, that since "wedding commercial" marketing almost ceased to be visible. There is either very little or "0" (zero) advertising. Again, Time is a critical factor. You just can't base marketing strategy on "sold out in minutes" mantra forever. looks like unmasked by Forbes. What an embarrassment, to Microsoft not that much to Nokia. They have deep pockets, Nokia exhausted its money on great line of smart phones including L1020 revelation. IMO, Ballmer is finished, he is a liability to MS and Nokia future performance.
With this mediocre or, rather not existing marketing, MS can give nok all Tablets and Phablets and whatever else, you bet results will not be much better if they not reach into their deep pockets to aggressively push sales. Ballmer is no visionary, he just don't get it.
