Sentiment: Strong Buy
I will dump all my shares if elop exits Nokia. Who has got his balls to make such far sighted decisions? Will google give a damn about nokia's request to adjust the OS to make way for 41mp???
IMHO, it's either MSFT buyout or untie with MSFT. Within this year. Elop might take CEO seat of MSFT but the problem with Elop is that his track record at Nokia is not good yet. If Elop leaves Nokia without a buyout, the MSFT-Nokia exclusivity ends there. I say within 6 months, we'll know.. Maybe earlier.
Depends on if folks think Elop is blowing it. Is he doing the right thing, as long and painful as this transition has been so far? Would Android solve all their problems, or just open a new can of worms?
Nokia has been a runaway success within the WP arena. Now if Microsoft would just do their dang job and promote WP8 withOUT trying to tie it in with Windows 8 we might actually see something. WP8 can be marketed on it's own as a stand-alone solution in mobile. Stop already with all the chatter about convergence with Windows 8 and that loser RT version of Windows.
Mac users have no appreciation for x86 legacy code (sigh). Any mobile device that can run the millions of applications already developed for Windows is going to be a hit in my book. The only reason WP8 failed to take off sooner is because it can't do this. However, I agree that Nokia has been doing well with WP8, and I doubt that getting rid of Elop would result in any significant gains to the stock at this point. Price might even go down if Elop was given his pink slip, contrary to Phands and Momo's predictions. Then again, who ever listens to them? heheh
