I was very positive on Nokia since the $3 days. They were making all the right moves and putting out innovative smartphones. I was also happy with Nokia buying Siemens stake in NSN. Honestly, the RT tablet is a bad move. RT has a horrible reputation in the consumer space. Look how much advertising Microsoft did with the Surface and they still lost almost a billion $. What makes Nokia think they will succeed with their mediocre marketing team. I just don't understand.
ENTERPRISES NEEDS THE TABLET & PHABLET.......RT IS PRICED WRONG right on the batt...
Furthermore...It is who makes them...I think the perception that NOK makes the device can change the atmosphere on the RT TABLET.....PLUS Elop for sure knows what is missing & what needs to be done for the RT tablet....DIFFERENTIATION IS HIS MOTTO ANYWAY...He see something here...As his supporter I always hail his plans until I see a result....He is very very smart anyway & is on the right track...Lets hope he don't get distracted with this Msft CEO issue...I am beginning to hear he is the Top Candidate due to Msft's current agenda of pursuing the Wireless space...That's the talk in Redmond I hear but of course my source could be wrong.
I see it as another conformation sign of m$ft buying devices/HERE
i'd put the surface rt as a definite fail, softy has already lost billions but they want it in their product line
maybe they see some future in some cheap devices, someday
& they'll own it before we see the results anyway
Perhaps they were too far down the road before the Surface RT looked like a flop and also perhaps the exercise is necessary for setting up for the full Windows 8 version.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
That is horrible news if they were too far down the road to abandon the RT tablet. That will affect the earnings big time when it flops. Will have to wait and see, but I don't see the RT tablet doing well
