Not true. Alcatel-lucent still have a handphone business that loses money. They lose money all over the place. They have not sold off assets and kept the best the way that NSN and the rest of Nokia has over the last two years. ALU remains bloated and money losing. The new Nokia is / will be leaner and meaner than any similar company. Where ALU is similar is in being in the network business and having some of the best technology in the wireless networking world and in having a similar vision for the connected world. They too are aiming at the switched on car, but they don't have the contracts with car companies that Nokia has. In fact, Nokia is the company that ALU wants to be.
That's one thing that worries me, NSN still needs to announce a CEO and we have to hope he is competent. I don't want NSN taking any gambles like expanding into another venture; they should stick with all three divisions with greater emphasis. I want them to bring this company back from the dead.
