To Finland this is crazy, but this is part of business. He was an outsider (Canadian) hired to cut and slash, because they were too fat to compete with Apple and Samsung, which was obvious. The stock went down temondously, which was the idea and that was the only way it was going to happen. So they got Elop to do his dirty work and now he is getting paid for the job he was hired into. Finland is #$%$, but this is business Finland - sorry. You don't have to like it and you can rail against Capitalism, but this is how it works. I don't like it either as an American, but I seen it is the hospital business. Hospital, as well as know are in bad financial shape, so they hire CEO's to go into a hospital to close. He has no ties with the hospital, therefore easy to chop and cut and they sell off the parts and the real estate to make even more money for the trustees and business associates. The people get screwed, but it is perfectly legal. Unfortunately, the Chairman of NOK misspoke - he is a dope and made a difficult situation worst. But that shouldn't hold up the acquisition though. This is Business baby. You don't have to like it, but getting rid of the handset business is smart and let NSN, HERE etc.. do there business now. It is a very good move. Sorry.
