Idling of mines is BULLISH for coal prices

I think the idling of mines is BULLISH for coal prices in the long run. We need to see some production curtailment, a la "Opec" with oil, in order to get some equilibrium back into coal pricing. The only way that is gonna happen is to have several large producers cut back output. Both thermal and met need to get some price appreciation before things are going to really take off. ALready nat gas producers are learning a big lesson: bringing SO much NG on line that the bottom fell out. Now, some are paying more for extraction/storage that they can get on the open market per BCF. And so it goes.
Long JRCC, but have been looking at ANR to build a longer term position. A GREAT company, indeed.
