    OT: Fool.com

Motley Fool pronounces GSI one of the "worst stocks in the world", and it promptly skyrockets nearly 100%. Now, down 35% from the highs, they call is a stock "approaching greatness". Nice piece of reporting Motley Fool. Where should we send the Pulitzer?

      • I wouldn't call this "knife-catching". It isn't that bad, nor will it be. But if they come up with another "zero-quarter" (dismal) than GSI could drop much further. If they have a good quarter with good forecast it will be quickly up and away. For me it is too ünsteady so I sold out. A yaer ago I wanted to do the same, missed the ask/offer on 10 cents and had to dig myself out this hole for almost a year bij averaging down. Would not do that in your case under the presnt insecure prospects of the company. Don,t forget it is mainly a trading company!!Huge turnover with small margins. So on first side it looks impressive but trading steel is in big shipments (2-5 Million) small margins and usually full of claims afterwards (quality). Good luck.

    • They are living up to their name more and more. I have a subscription to their Hidden Gems letter but is NOT going to be renewed. Their performance is at least appalling and keep on boasting on a couple of picks whilst the majority is an outright disaster. Now they are claiming "diversification" as defense. A very poor argument. It was their "greatness"that should bring over average returns. Look at scss, fmd etc. The letters and their recommendations are short term a selffulfilling prophecy. Because of the herd of followers a stock shoots up after the fact, appears on activity/momentum screens and get follow through buying. Than slowly the story unfolds and the magic is gone. Don't pay attention to them, just use it as info for further DD. By the way I HATE their cross-selling techniques and personal "dear Joseph" special invites!Good luck , I,m riding the waves of Gold and Silver again. A lovely ride, esp when done from southern France at the cote dázur.
