I realize that the discounting is high, but the fact that these are older models and that this is only happening at one company does not make it a universal happening. FinishLine knows that it can sell the newer product and perhaps manage their inventory a lot better going forward.
However, FinishLine is probably taking a loss on these shoes because it needs to make room for other stock.
In any case, the alarm bells are not ringing loud for me, because I have noticed Foot Locker (from my visit yesterday) selling other brand names at 70%+ off to clear out excess inventory. Right now is about the time for retailers to cut inventory before the Spring season begins. IMO of course.
