We introduced our kids into investing at about age 14, with Lucky Stores common. It resulted in marvelous appreciation during the 60's. Now, one a Doc, one a retired city mgr, one a distinguished sea capt have no interest in the Market (except perhaps the Doc, a little). However, they buy land and appreciating improvements in costly vacation retreats in the US. Results have been far better than some of my investments. More, they enjoy their properties . So, what do I know ???
Don't dispair. Each finds his own way...I've learned that I can do better with less cost selecting my own securities than going with "funds". TY is my example of letting others do it, a bummer. 2004 has been a good year after all. Adios and good wishes.
