    Why I switched to DIRECTV

    Having been a DishNet Digital TV customer for approximately 15 years, I've sadly watched their customer support degrade to something close to completely useless. I had a new HD receiver installed just a week ago (I pay for the lease now) and it took them 4 hours to get a simple "connect the cables" installation working right. They went through two remotes - both apparently bad out of the box. I had to stand in 29 degree weather on a ladder holding a flashlight for over an hour in the dark so the Dishnet technican could install a new HD antenna. When I complained to Dishnet they essentially said "TOO BAD FOR YOU". And now I've spent approximately 16 hours on the telephone with their technical support (which does little but read from scripts) and after having them promise me they'd send me a new receiver twice, still do not have a replacement receiver. They keep wanting to send me new remotes even after they tell me the receiver is bad and that they're going to send a new receiver. How pathetic. So - my system STILL DOES NOT WORK and I can't get anyone in Dishnet to react or respond in any way that isn't written on a script in front of them. I have even been on the phone with their Executive Resolution Specialists with a net result of NOTHING. They promise to call back and never have - despite my leaving 5 messages begging them to call back. Sadly, Dishnet used to be good. But I now regret going with Dishnet and sincerely suggest that if anyone is considering renewing their contract with them - RUN. RUN to Direct TV as fast as you can. Dishnetwork simply does NOT care about their clients and once they have you over the barrel they couldn't care less. DO I REALLY WANT TO INVEST IN A COMPANY LIKE THIS? I DID, but have now recently SOLD all my stock. ZERO CONFIDENCE.
