Although I do like the movement of the stock for direct tv, I have had the honor of dealing with home office billing that borders Illegal practices.
When lowering my package of DIRECT TV channels received, the customer service rep constantly delayed my request and tried to influence me to increase the channel allocation.. I have called four different days (over a two month period) to seek a "basic" package, only to be billed the same. They actually added a NFL sports package on my last bill, after I specifically asked them for nothing but basic TV. They intentionally and constantly put me on hold, hoping I would hang up, thus keeping my contract for a few more days, it didn't work.
After being transfered three times to other representatives, I was bombarded with stupid questions on my reasons for the downgrade.
I then asked to be recorded on their voice calls (for training purposes) thereby getting an immediate response. When transfered, I requested the fraud division for the company, to report several incorrect statements as pertaining to my bill and a full refund for 2 months. They are researching it now. What they are doing is fraud, through and through.
My neighbor works for Centurylink phone and internet, he went with DishTV because of the bad reputation of Direct TV, and they are supposed to be in a partnership. I had a Centurylink employee and a rep from Direct TV on a conference call; soon after, I called back the home office Centurylink Rep, she could not believe the conversation that took place between myself and the direct TV rep concerning my request to lower my package, the Direct TV rep side- stepped my request so many times, the century link rep asked to be excused from the call (to call her supervisor).
Its sad when customer service lies to you, and tries everything to keep your bills as high as possible...a good tactic for share price increases. It will catch up with them soon, never again will I use Direct TV.
