ClearWire could be the last piece to complete his puzzle. Dish got contents, infrastructure (both space and terrestrial), global reach via sat relay (or internet), 2-way communication between customers and his data centers...Charlie's global Media Empire is now completed. Yet, the only thing remains would be to implement it.
The grand bargain would be if Dish bot CLWR's prime spectrum that is not incumbered with leases and then Apple buys DISH for its upcoming TV product. I would speculate that they want that tv product to act as a hub to seamless link everything electronic and make everything electronic mobile. It would be an entire ecosystem for mobile everything, anywhere, anytime. Content, home entertainment, mobile entertainment, banking, home electronics, home environment control, cars and more...
Except Sprint won't sell their shares to Dish. Of course Ergen really wants to buy Clearwire spectrum. Clearwire should sell Dish some spectrum which would lessen Clearwire's cash needs. The current Clearwire board has conflicted interests and should be thoroughly nvestigatated by the SEC. They would rather be Sprint's slave than manage the company prudently. Charlie wants more than just Clearwire's spectrum, IMO: he also wants Clearwire's infra-structure and expertise. So, as Clearwire's personnel, they may be better off accepting Dish's offer, for Charlie will likely keep the whole company intact.
