Dish going after Lightsquared's spectrum and satellites

What would they do with the spectrum since it has been ruled non-usable for terrestrial wireless? Do they need more capacity for TV broadcast? Are the existing DISH satellites near end of life?

    • That is a private deal between Ergen and Lightsquare. Ergen set up a private company to buy lioghtsquare debt. of course he will then get DISH to buy the debt from him since he is the majorityholder in DISH. He doesnt need band width he needs a carrier. Perhaps he is gathering useable and non useable band for future trading purposes. One is not worth anything without the other. Something that everybody forgets is that he already owns band purchased from the FCC which has a time limit for being put to use. and the time is running out for that action. Maybe he will trade the LightSquare band back to the FCC for something more useable.

    • DISH needs to take over now wireless companies that have a lot of customers. At this time it looks like TMUS just might be at the head of the list, followed by NTLS.
Charlie's time is slowly running out to get his wireless empire up and running.
