I noticed that DIRECT systems are now selling for as low
as 150$. When I checked into it I found out that these low priced
units had 8 bit micos instead of a 32 bit micro which comes with a dish box. Does any one know if the signal aquasition is much slower with the 150$ boxes for DIRECT TV?

    • There is no picture digradation on 8 bit systems.
The difference is only for the Guide/Menu (User Interface).
User interface on 8 bit systems works a little bit slower than on 32 bit, but picture is the same.
This processor does not process the picture!

      • Just a point! I read somewhere that an average subscriber pays
$34.00. Since there are one mil that means dish bills out one
mil dollars per month! Thats alot of money. I really think
this company will be very succesfull in the future. BTW I happen
to be a Dish dealer. After checking out all the companys that
have service Dish is by far the best. Since the equipment is
so inexpensive I think in the near future you will see Dish
start getting customers from other companys. I started seeing this trend about two months ago. Also I have been selling alot
more dishes to people that have acess to cable. GO DISH!
