    • This is not Brystol Myers, it is a group that it is very much in debt and will be for a long time.
The price swings are not so much "profit taking" as you may read in other's replies, they are nervous reactions by the market.
While it could go to $35 or $40 as others have said it could just as quickly go to $10.
Remember that the competition is, Direct TV, USSB, Hughes Aircraft, General Motors, Thomson Electronics, and also remember that they are all together as DSS.
Remember that at the start dish collected pre-paid programming at $300 from their customers and pretty well gave the equipment away to their dealers. Under some existing programs the pre-paid programming is still being collected.
The people that have been playing this game well all along have bought and sold several times.
I bought at 15 sold at 22, bought again at 16 and sold at 27, and I am waiting to buy again at about 17.
Look at dbss is owned in part by Echostar and it is at about $2

      • Echostar jointly applied, with DBSS, for a licence to launch a fleet of LEO satelites to transmit data, read rural and hard
to access meters, gas and well head meters, monitor environmental quality of water and air (mostly in Europe). The birds will
very likely be put to many other uses. Unfortunately, the gov't drug its feet for well over a year in getting the license in the
hand of the Echostar-DBSS partnership, thus delaying the contracts to build and launch the LEO satelites. Sounds like the whole
project will get off the ground in late '99. The question is how much interest does Charlie Ergen (Dish Ceo) still have in the
business, considering how many other irons he has in the fire. DBSS may look for another partner to help finance the project,
minimizing the dependence on Charlie. It's small potatoes for Charlie but big potatoes for DBSS. Their share price rebounded once the
license was in hand, but now they need to start signing contracts for use of the birds. Annual shareholders meeting in early May
        will clarify DISH- DBSS plans.

These companies are DirecTV. DirecTV is valued at
how many Billion dollars? And BSky.B, a British
dbs company has market capitalization at 6 Billion
Pounds (!) the last time a ehecked, one of the largest
market Caps of any U.K. company. DBS is an older
business in Europe. Our Echostar has a market Cap
of 350 million (!) dollars and an infrastructure that
is the lust of many, many Broadcasters.

By the way, Echostar is growing much faster than
        Squibb.

    • see, profit taking has occured again. From the 27 to 24 range is an opportunity to short. (A pattern I've seen before) After the launch is successful, IMHO we are off to 30...
