Polls: people blame the gop for the fiscal cliff mess
Republicans Are Getting Hammered For Their Handling Of The Fiscal Cliff Talks
In another sign that Republicans could have a tough time winning a public-opinion battle over a deal to avert the fiscal cliff, a new Gallup poll released Tuesday displays staggeringly low approval ratings for Congressional Republicans on their handling of the negotiations thus far.
The poll finds that only 27 percent of respondents approve of how Republican leaders in Congress are handling negotiations on the fiscal cliff so far. An astounding 63 percent disapprove. By comparison, 52 percent approve of President Barack Obama's handling, while only 43 percent disapprove.
Earlier on Tuesday, a Washington Post/Pew Research poll found that 53 percent of Americans would blame Republicans if no deal is reached. Only 27 percent said they would blame Obama.
The nerve of the Republicans going against the wishes of the people. Those 47 per centers might have to start paying a few farthings in income taxes.
And the 70 per centers who think the top 1-2 percent should pay more taxes. They only pay 50 percent of all taxes now. The nerve of those successful people. Shame on them for being rich and successful. Bad, bad people.
