I actually think the odds are decent that Oracle will buy SalesForce in due time, at an optimal price. Oracle still has great cash flow & balance sheets. It's technology underpins the cloud. And keep in mind, Oracle still grew revenue, although not as much as Wall Street expected. This is hardly a disaster.
SalesForce on the other hand makes no money. It's a matter of time before Wall Street normalizes this. When it does, I expect Larry to press hard in perhaps acquiring SalesForce. Larry has weathered a lot of change. Odds are he will again in this so called cloud revolution.
I've been an "enemy" of Oracle professionally since the 90s. But I give credit where credit is due. Oracle is still a great technology company with great business fundamentals. I've learned not to bet against their stock.
