It might not mean much to many but from a personal stand point, I never thought I would see this day. From a company about to introduce a new state of the art plane to another company coming out once again of a bankruptcy scare, I never thought AC would surpass BBD in market price.
Closing price as of July 30th, 2013: Air Canada $2.08 - Bombardier $5.13
Current price as of 10:00am Oct 10th, 2013: Air Canada $4.93 - Bombardier $4.88
You need to be patient with these things but it is hard to do so when you see things like this happening. Of course it doesn't help when multi-million shares are allowed to be shorted but hopefully sooner rather than later, a huge turnaround, a series of tremendous orders will have shorters covering at any cost and people wanting to get in on the newest hot stock.
Until then, I can only wonder why I sold my AC too soon in order to grab some BBD before the C-Series first flight to lose out on thousands of $.
I sold my entire position in BBD and bought oil (bnk.to and gte.to) - this is temporary until BBD catches some orders which is only a matter of time but how long? My guess is at least a quarter to a half year and this one should rise
its all about earnings and improvement in earnings air canada has turned the corner at least the last quarter..... while bbd's management is wallowing with their '' firm '' 177 orders , and along the way giving themselves bonuses .. it seems many posters dont own shares and for that matter management probably own boeing shares;m so obviously they have a differrent slant or vision of things .. to date they havent convinced the investment community that they have the balls to come through, ;; losing market share to atr (airbus ) in the turbo prop segment somebody is sleeping on the switch there ...... talking about historic days we had two of them to date , the two test flights of the c sreies planes, and how did the market react on those two historic days ? the shares couldn't reach the $ 5.00 mark ..... are there more historic days to come from this dog ?
