Has anybody here ever been to Chipmos facilities??
I'm leaving in a couple days for Taiwan on business and I'll actually be in the Industrial Park in Hsinchu where IMOS is headquartered. I was wondering if anybody here has ever visited there. Besides the obvious (kicking Cheng in the nuts for doing such a poor management job with respect to IMOS share price), I wouldn't mind dropping by Chipmos and/or Thailin to see the place, just wondering how easy that is???????????
Just came back from taiwan this July. My college is close to Hsinchu science park. I still have many college classmates working in TSM, UMC or other newer Semi companies.
At the earlier time, only Semi Fabs (Chip foundries) are considered "High-Tech" and can be moved into "Science" park (space is limited). So you can see ASX and Spil headquarters are located in Industrial parks which are considered to be low tech.
OSATs are making money more than chip foundries these days, so it doesn't matter now.
I have never been to Chipmos's facility. It should be very clean and modern. To be frankly with you, I hope Cheng/Chen have a heart attack and Chipmos is bought by SPIL or any other PE.
P.S. Be sure to take Taiwan High Speed Rail. It runs 300+KM/per hour.
