Now we have an economic disaster with the village idiot not having a clue as to what to do.

    • You nincompoop, it is well know that there are a lot of people that simply stopped trying to even look for a job. If you add them to the 9.8% reported figure, you get a number around 18%. Anyone with half a brain knows that.

exactly right Boechair, however you do need half a brain, which leaves lo-pants out

    • did you even bother to investigate where cpwr got his claim that unemployment was over seventeen percent?

did you even bother to investigate if there is something called the Household survey, with a workforce participation indicator?

tell me how you know cpwr is telling the truth, if you DO NOT KNOW what the truth is?

The Labor Department said Friday that the U.S. economy lost a net total of 263,000 jobs last month, from a downwardly revised 201,000 in August. That's worse than Wall Street economists' expectations of 180,000 job losses, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters.

The unemployment rate rose from 9.7 percent in August, matching expectations.

If laid-off workers who have settled for part-time work or have given up looking for new jobs are included, the unemployment rate rose to 17 percent, the highest on records dating from 1994.

All told, 15.1 million Americans are now out of work, the department said. And 7.2 million jobs have been eliminated since the recession began in December 2007.

Here is the link since you no saying to yourself that Limbaugh made up the numbers, stocker.

Uhh you're the one who watches "Blabberman and Madcow." Your repeated jabbering about Maddow being a hot lezbo is hilarious.

Personally I find them both overtly smug and irritating as hosts....which segues into my overall distaste for TV's "news" media: it's become all about the reporter-as-celebrity and not about what's being reported. Cult of personality, etc; the messenger shouldn't override the message, but we've adopted a cult of personality.

News anchors have devolved into talk show hosts, wherein there is zero analysis (because the avg viewer/US citizen is just too stupid to be allowed to think on their own) except from the pundit class...but nowhere do you see anchors attempt to control the conversation to the degree that Faux News does.

What do you think we American folk have done!

We've done something our Congress/senate reps have not done, read the proposed Obamacare disasters, and protested their(congegators) irresponsible actions.

Yesterday I was appalled to watch the Speaker of the House comment on Press Secretary Robert Gibbs’ assertion that the anger at these town halls over health care reform is “manufactured”. The reporter asked, “Do you think there is legitimate grassroots opposition going on out there?”

Nancy Pelosi made the following statement:

“I think they’re Astroturf…you be the judge. They are carrying swastikas and symbols like that to a town meeting on health care.”

SEIU chief: We won't be silenced by the 'ugly, anti-American' 'lies, stunts and smears' of 'attack dogs, Teabaggers and Glenn Beck'

Andy Stern, head of the Service Employees International Union, has just released a statement vowing not to be "silenced" by "right wing attack dogs" targeting "progressive individuals" and "community organizations." Stern, whose union has sometimes been linked with the community organizing group ACORN, which yesterday suffered an enormous blow when the House of Representatives voted 345-45 to cut off all federal funds for the organization, said his union will not be intimidated by a right-wing "backlash" that is "fierce, ugly and anti-American."
