    $2 Tax per Big Mac...

A study I read a few years ago suggested that being 20% overweight was worse on your body health wise than smoking two packs of cigarettes a day...

It astounds me that big tobacco/liquor sit back and do nothing while pig tax states like Michigan and New York tax them out of existence... if these pig tax states taxed (FAIRLY) on fat like they do liquor/tobacco it would ease up on the taxes we had to pay for our smoking and drinking... most diabetes is caused by fat... did you ever see the movie Super Size Me... I'd be healthier than that guy after a month of just smoking and drinking a bottle of wine everyday...

Big tobacco/liquor need to get proactive and quit sitting back, taking it, while the fast food industry, which is by far more detrimental to the average guy's health, pays no tax for their part in driving obesity... as I said, $2 tax per Big Mac is just fair in states which are bent on taxing us into health...

    • Verm, then there ought to be a time when you believe that you have enough data to be confident in your findings.

I think that you just stop by to wind them up.

Consider that person who said that being overweight was worse for you than smoking however much a day. The Sun (UK, not US)published an article about 12 years ago that stated that working night shift was as bad for you as smoking a pack a day. Is it true? I don't know. It seems reasonable that smoking would be a stressor, even though the average smoker tells you that they smoke to relax, much as I found working night shift to be. With night shift, one tends to sleep less well.

Are they equally bad? I've never been a smoker, and I didn't like working night shift, so the path of greatest reward for me was avoiding both if I could. I'd still be in Oregon had I been able to talk one of the guys on my crew into working all nights, but even for the 10% pay differential, I had no takers.

We don't know whether or not it will pass.

<Will you be taking a class action against MO for causing serious injury if it enters the trade?>>

It would have to cause injury to me. I do not plan to smoke pot, and I doubt it will be allowed in public places, and if it were, I still live thousands of miles away from California.

There will still be harm to bystanders in that pot really does increase the risk of serious psychosis, but it will be hard to win a case in court.

      <<It will be quite >>

The expert on America who has never even set paw in America weighs in again on what America is like.

    • That's not really a solution.

      Hey Verm

Ca is about to legalise the production and sale of dope ,for all,if the referendum approves it in November.

Will you be taking a class action against MO for causing serious injury if it enters the trade?

It will be quite profitable for MO,true?I now think we all must bow to the inevitable.Americans just want to get stoned!

Companies will just introduce more drug testing for their workers.

    • <<Verm, perhaps it is time for you to use the ignore button,>>

That's not really a solution. I come here to do rodentology on the most useless rodents, and so putting them on ignore would defeat the purpose.

    • Verm, perhaps it is time for you to use the ignore button, if Yahoo! still supports it.

My guess is that there are some posters who provoke you more than others, and that's where to start the weaning.

      Good luck.

It appears you missed the post-potification Rodent Logic of the thread.

<< And so do you think that the rodents I insult are more like idiots or great mathematicians? In context it was a rodent who kept on making up absurd "facts" such as that being 20 percent overweight was worse than smoking two packs a day, that being 20 percent overweight was being obese, etc who objected to me insulting him, claiming that if someone makes insults it means his ideas are worthless. >>

Surprisedly, sometimes your insults tend to make the rodents look like great mathematicians, and you the idiot. (Please don’t take this as an insult). In general, it seems to me, discussions converted to arguments filled with insults doesn’t add much, other than sick entertainment, and tends to make all those involved look like idiots.
