Folks: there is an article by FORBES magazine today; about "marj" becoming legal....and how
Tobacco companies will benefit from it.
They are running "Ads" on TV during the DNC .....
Sentiment: Strong Buy
Many people who use marijuana are sick and on Social Security or disability. Unable to work most have limited financial sources. To outprice this treatment to increase a bottom line is wrong. If not sold as an herb, it should be sold as a generic drug.
I hope not. I want marijuana to be legal for anyone, who is an adult, who wants it for any reason... whether medical or non-medical. I want it to sell as an herb or vegetable at the price of an herb or vegetable and allow adults to use it at a reasonable price.
I don't see it replacing regular cigarettes. If made legal, it'll probably be regulated just like alcohol. No use while (or before) driving, no use in public except at special events, limited to 21 and over, etc. If a tobacco company wants in that line of business, they'll have to come up with new brands of tobacco/pot blended or pure pot cigarettes to and to their current pure tobacco brand line-up.
Of course, this still means profit for the companies that do. One question I have though. When legal, will we see lots of people growing their own or just going down to the gas station to get them? I've always wondered how high the price of cigarettes have to get before we start seeing people start growing their own tobacco.
