The United States is the Only Indistrialized Nation that prohibits
Farmers from growing Hemp. Hemp was once a huge cash crop that had numerous uses not related to drug use. As a matter of fact, the chemical THC in hemp is of such low content that it is that characterized of that being of the drug component of a poppy seed. The DEA was sued by the HEMP society in 2001 when the DEA forced all hemp products off the market and closed all hemp businesses. In 2004 the DEA lost the case, but prevailed in not letting US farmers grow hemp. So all hemp must be imported into the USA.
Just think what MO could do with INDUSTRIIAL HEMP if the USA farmers would be allowed to grow it again.
Marijuana should be as legal as alcohol. If you meet the requirements to buy alchohol marijuana should be as available. It should be available legally for whatever you want. It is the greed and lying that is filling our jails with non-violent "criminals" such as those who smoke pot. It is the corrupted lawyers, judges, pharm companies, tje AMA and all others who prevent its' legalization to protect their avarice. This is just like the outrageous Prohibition of the 1930's. The voice of the people was loud and clear in Colorado and Washington and is getting louder around the country. If the fools still cry their second amendment rights are to have a gun, even though it has nothing to do with "raising a militia", then why is a person's choice to use pot anyone elses' business?
Lies. For the past 50 years or more Americans have been lied to about marijuana. Crooked lawyers and crooked judges, rapacious pharm cos. , for profit jails and others... all profit from it being illegal. It should be legal for anyone for medical or recreational use. If it is legal to buy liquor. It should be legal to buy mj without the hassle of a license or any other restriction other than what you need to buy booze.
it still grows wild around here from the days when it was grown for rope and packing material for lead joints on plumbing (known as "ditch weed").
it has no "buzz" value compared to what the k-12 teachers use daily (guess they prefer the "bud")...better materials are available for rope and we can't use lead in plumbing anymore...so what else could it be used for?
