A leading climate scientist predicted that the Arctic would be ice-free in five years — five years ago.
An article in The Guardian published in August 2008 reported the Professor Wieslaw Maslowski of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey Calif., and his team produced a forecast “which indicated that by 2013 there will be no ice in the Arctic, other than a few outcrops on islands near Greenland and Canada, between mid-July and mid-September.”
Maslowski said: “The crucial point is that ice is clearly not building up enough over winter to restore cover and that when you combine current estimates of ice thickness with the extent of the ice cap, you get a very clear indication that the Arctic is going to be ice-free in summer in five years.”
The article also quoted Professor Peter Wadhams of Cambridge University in Britain: “Now the most detailed computer models suggest the Arctic’s summer ice is going to last for only a few more years.”
Arctic ice did not disappear last summer, however. And the National Snow and Ice Data Center has reported that the “average sea ice extent for January 2013 was 5.32 million square miles.”
President Obama showed that he has bought into the global warming hysteria when he declared in his State of the Union address on Tuesday: “For the sake of our children and our future, we must do more to combat climate change.”
Respected climate scientist Richard Lindzen, who is the Alfred P. Sloan Professor of Meteorology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, said in remarks quoted by the Climate Depot website: “Future generations will wonder in bemused amazement that the early 21st century developed world went into hysterical panic over a globally averaged temperature increase of a few tenths of a degree, and, on the basis of gross exaggerations of highly uncertain computer projections combined into implausible chains of inference, proceeded to contemplate a roll-back of the industrial age.”
Catastrophic Man Made Global Warming is a hoax. There is no real-world evidence whatsoever to suggest that the modest warming of around 0.8 degrees C which the planet has experienced since 1850 is in any way dangerous or unprecedented. Even the suggestion that it is mostly man-made is at best moot, at worst long since falsified by real world data and superseded by more plausible theories

Need we say more?
Yes -- a leading Mouth Breather claimed that arctic ice was not disappearing at all, right after shooting his entire family -- need we say more?
Copenhagen climate summit: Al Gore condemned over Arctic ice melting prediction.
Al Gore, the former US Vice-President, has become embroiled in a climate change spin row after claiming that the Arctic could be completely ice-free within five years.By Murray Wardrop 8:55AM GMT 15 Dec 2009.
Speaking at the Copenhagen climate change summit, Mr Gore said new computer modelling suggests there is a 75 per cent chance of the entire polar ice cap melting during the summertime by 2014.
However, he faced embarrassment last night after Dr Wieslav Maslowski, the climatologist whose work the prediction was based on, refuted his claims.
Dr Maslowski, of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, told The Times: “It’s unclear to me how this figure was arrived at.
“I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.”
The blunder follows the controversy over hacked emails from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, which sceptics claim suggest scientists manipulated data to strengthen their argument that global warming is man-made.
Al Gore Also sold hs network to Al Jazeera who now is running youtube videos against developing canadian oil fields that are larger than Saudi Arabia on grounds of environmental concerns.

Gun Nut does not even keep track of what he is ditto-copying and pasting. In the post post Gun Nut quotes the Polish scientist as saying " you get a very clear indication that the Arctic is going to be ice-free in summer in five years". In the second post, the very same Polack chastizes Gore who had made a much weaker less definitive prediction than Dr. Polack made--Dr. Polack says of Gore's prediction " “I would never try to estimate likelihood at anything as exact as this.'"
#$%$, Gore said "could," not "would."
Meanwhile, a University of Washington monitoring program known as PIOMAS has indeed found that the summer ice minimum is 80 percent smaller than when the study began in 1982. So even if the timing is uncertain, the direction towards an ice free summer is clear.
It would be like someone predicting in 1996 that, 5 years hence, 3100 Americans would be killed by terrorists in one day, and Mouth Breather then bleating that, because only 3000 or so Americans died, the prediction was garbage and 9/11 never happened.
That's what happens to your logical powers when you are shot in the head as a baby.
