The Kroger Co. Message Board

If everything's so ROSY at KROGER then WHY...

Is the FOOD4LESS in my neighborhood CLOSING after 14 years in business? Wake up and smell the guano. I could post profits too if I had the world by the stomach and could say "pay my overinflated prices , or don't eat."
The food industry is one of the most monopolistic and anti-competitive of all. Funny how the farmer gets 1 cent for an apple, but we pay $1.00.
Ever try calling a huge food company, like HERSHEYS, and ask them if you can buy a ton of their product directly from a distributor instead of paying retail? NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.
And quarter after quarter - record profits at all the food companies. While the rest of the world is in a depression - amazing, isn't it?

    • The most pahtetic thing of all is that they want to freeze workers pay in Mich for 3 years-corporate America at it's finest hour!!Dillon say's we owe it all to the employees and wants to thank them-trouble is that is all he wants to do. Last time I put "thank you from Kroger" on a deposit slip they didn't put any money in my account!!!!
