Assuming the stores have power and are opened. And there aren't a couple of open topped dumpsters behind the store full of spoiled frozen food, produce and meat. Might be large enough of a loss to trigger a catastrophic insurance claim, but it won't make up for all of the lost sales and damage to perishables.
The quarter ending in Mid August will show huge sales increases for KR's quarter. All of the folks out there will need to replace $300 each of perishables....will be a huge quarter for KR stock. I don't think many (if any) Kroger stores have been without power for long...they are located in populated areas and more quickly restored power. TIME TO BUY KR NOW!!!!
