    response to Tiger's posting

Tiger, I am sure you do work for Peoples, but I did too, for almost 8 years. I just don't understand where your information is coming from.

First of all, you said that Peoples gets all of the low end customers that no one else wants. Well, I know for a fact that there were many wealthy and successful people that banked with Peoples, and I am sure some of them probably still do. And they do a Chex Systems inquiry for anyone who wants to open any kind of account there. Customers like to bank with Peoples mainly because they have some of the better interest rates, lower fees and better customer service.

Secondly, you said that they can not last long term. Well, I have already commented on this one before, but in case you didn't see it, you are dead wrong about this one. They have been around since 1842, longer than any other bank in CT, so what are you talking about?

Finally, if I were you, I would not go broadcasting that I have inside knowledge of any company that I invest in. You could be found guilty of insider trading.

I remember Fleet Bank with all of their fees. There was an old joke known by a lot of people that Fleet was spelled the way it was because of you took the "L" and "T" out of the word Fleet, you would have the word "Fee". They charged for everything, even lollipops. They were also the bank that pushed for ATM surcharges in CT and fought for 3 years to get the right to do that. Peoples only started doing it because they realized that they could not benefit from not charging that fee, and saw it as an actual LOSS, so they had no choice but to start doing it.

I could go on and on here, but I think I have made my point. Just do yourself a favor, ok? Just think about what you are saying before you go posting it on here.
