    • Sorry, you said "charity cases" not "lost causes".

    • H: "I was merely refuting Lizdan's argument that Bruce Kovner's insider investment alone was QED that Synta is surely going to the moon."

Read this line, then read it again, ah one more time.
Never did I say SNTA was going to the moon because Bruce Kovner was buying the stock. ALL I said was I like the fact that Bruce Kovner is buying the stock

Unlike your comment on how we are all Dumb for buying SNTA and not selling as you did over $6

Yet you bought spectrum and let it go close to $11, and did not sell. HA HA HA HA. Come On.

I need a break. Conversing with you is exasperating... Please. You need to read your post"s before posting. Also you need to read my post"s slowly and absorb what I am saying.

This is way to easy, Tell me that you are just messing around and are just here to talk to someone.

    • H: "I was merely refuting Lizdan's argument that Bruce Kovner's insider investment alone was QED that Synta is surely going to the moon."

L: "I shall answer this the way you do. WHERE did I say this. I simply said that Bruce Kovner likes SNTA and that's good enough for me. "

So you ask me where you say that Bruce Kovner's insider investment alone was a good enough reason to invest in Synta, and your very next statement is "Kovner likes SNTA and that's good enough for me."

I need a break. Conversing with you is exasperating...

    • I was merely refuting Lizdan's argument that Bruce Kovner's insider investment alone was QED that Synta is surely going to the moon.

I shall answer this the way you do. WHERE did I say this. I simply said that Bruce Kovner likes SNTA and that's good enough for me. How do you think he got so wealthy. Not by throwing money away. Like I said in my last post to you. This Company SNTA IMO is positioning themselves very nicely. They have had GREAT results, with excellent safety, they have mentioned they are in talks with partners, ( NOW WHY WOULD SOMEONE PARTNER WITH SNTA ) Because SNTA is a Great Company. Come on 3 years ago you may of had a point, even 1 year ago, BUT today SNTA is in a total different position.

    • Where did I say that he "invests in lost causes"?

I said that he puts money into things that interest him, and obtaining profit from those things is not a top priority. That alone wasn't intended to prove that Synta is weak; I was merely refuting Lizdan's argument that Bruce Kovner's insider investment alone was QED that Synta is surely going to the moon.

Synta is weak for other reasons that I've mentioned. ;-)

    • Your agrument that he has only has 0.4% of his net worth is suffice to make your point and is well taken.

However, your tangent that he invests in lost causes and doesn't think Synta will succeed is weak at best, since I'm willing to bet you don't know the man personally.

That said, I agree with you that there is more pain ahead for the markets.

    • Once again do you actually read your posts before hiting the post message button. Lets just say you have called most of us all DUMB for not selling when the stock was over $6 dollars. Yet in your last post you say that spectrum was near $11 but you, yes THE GURU you did not sell. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I tried to give you a complement on your pick of spectrum stock, and yes also because you made money in SNTA, ( why could you just not accept that, and not bash our choice to hold on to SNTA ).Instead you now have put a bad taste, in most that post on this site. My advice to you is if you dont own SNTA, is to let those that do own SNTA make our own choice as to where the stock is heading.

    • Just in case I'm wrong about everything, I am still holding on to my Spectrum Pharmaceuticals stock that I bought in the 6's (that I should have sold when it neared 11...I never said I was perfect!), but will probably sell if it falls down to $7.50 and pick up more metals (maybe a palladium ETF like PALL this time for variety's sake?)

I'm really not researching or investing in any stocks other than precious metal ETFs at this time though, for reasons I've already mentioned.

    • What biotech stocks do you like more than synta that has great price potential?
I try to look for insider or institutional buying in biotech to help me in my trading and that is what kinda led me to synta.

    • You are a lot more bullish on the future than I. I think that Nixon's experiment with making the dollar a fiat currency is nearing the point of failure, and that gold and silver will ultimately replace the dollar as the world's base currency. If that happens, then right now, gold and silver are really, really cheap.

If the world gets to such a point, then all sorts of societal safety nets will be cut and eliminated, and hundreds of millions, perhaps billions, of people will be struggling to survive. At that point, expensive medicines that keep people alive a few extra months will become a niche market, and Synta's business plan may no longer be viable.

Even if I were considering stocks. I wouldn't consider a biotech that wasn't heavily into immunotherapy, as those are the cancer drugs of the future that will ultimately make drugs like ganetespib irrelevant.

Others may point out that this is at odds with things I was saying a year or so ago. All I can say is that I've learned a lot in the past year, and as a result, I've made a profit with my investments over the past two months, when perhaps not so many people can say the same. If nothing else, please use my comments as motivation for you to double check your own assumptions and verify that things are as you believe them to be.
