    God punishes those who defraud others. Whether it be longs who pump in order to secretly dump their holdings, or shorts who ply their trade in an unethical manner.

    As it says in the Bible, what profit is there for a man to gain the world but lose his soul?

    Investing, honestly, can be a zero sum gain often, with one side's loss the other's gain, with no net benefit to society. But dishonesty in the markets is a negative sum game, as even those who profit in this world surely suffer in the next...or sometimes later in life. History is replete of many who made fortunes through dishonest means at the expense of others only to see immense suffering and pain - probably in excess of what they had caused others earlier in their life - towards their end days. Joseph Kennedy is a perfect example.

    • This is all particularly relevant to this stock. It is one thing to go short tactically because a single day's or month's move is excessive, the intention only to profit from the inevitable trading pullback.

      But for those in the massive short interest which remains in place day after day, even at lower price levels of 4 a share, there is an implicit bet - and hope - that this company can not help cancer sufferers. I would loath to be in such a moral position, because surely, even if this bet is won, the soul is seriously tainted...
