Unfortunately I don't think the shorts are going to choked out on this one. Some may if they continue to roll over their positions, but most will slowly buy back as they are doing today. It makes sense. Unless there is some breaking news, then there isn't any expected news for them to get squeezed by. What I anticipate is another gradual run-up until the next results release.... There is the CEO announcement, but I don't think that will create a significant run either, maybe 5-8% up at close, almost certain 12-16% high of the day.
If you think about how the short played this, it was well orchestrated; no earnings surprise + sudden departure of CEO and downgraded by analyst equals a free ride down. Small purchases on the way back up will give us a few 2-5% days each week. I suspect that is going to happen from now until late May early June. I would accumulate if you can. Any good news in regards to trials, funding, or partnerships and this will trade at 7+ before the market opens. If a CEO is announced and then a funding or partnership is announced then it's a free ride up and this will double.
