    MORE TUNE UPS....!!!

    Board members...today I have been buying more SDRL, SFL and TWO...I have a lot of dry power sitting on the sidelines and I cannot made any money with it in dry dock...

    I also want to buy some ARLP (yield about 7%)...I know that coal is out of favor at this time but I have "Eye Ball Information" on ARLP...

    ARLP has a new coal mine under construction a few miles north of my farms in Hamilton County, Illinois; here is some of the latest details on it;

    First, the construction on the White Oak Coal mine is about 50% complete...

    Second, they will have the rail line loop completed by early next year...

    Third, ARLP is spending about 70 million dollars on the construction of this mine and it will have a life of about 30 years...it will have the largest reserves of any coal mine they have...

    Fourth, most if not all, of the coal will go to China by way of the Evansville Western Railroad to a river port (that ARPL owns) that is a few miles from my home base...

    That said, I plan on making ARLP a core holding if I can find a good entry point...! $tagg...!

    • stagg, the S&P bounced off of the 1280 intraday level before its latest rebound. The question is whether it will retake 1320 or retest 1280 and break below. I read one article on minyanville saying that the low 1200's was the next level. I am still holding waiting for better entry levels. We really haven't had a big down day that washes out all of the stop loss orders and gets shorts to finally cover. That's not a good sign. And then of course there is Greece and Spain. Spain just "found" $38 billion more in debt.

      Bummer about MTGE doing their spo now. I was hoping the price would get over $24 so I could sell and they buy back after the spo. But I've said that mREITS raise money when they can, not when they have to, so I bet MTGE thought better to raise it now instead of later.

    • william...I am glad to see that our message board is working again, it has been messed up almost all day....

      That said, ARLP is still still running hot (and there must be a reason for that)...it is up strong at this time after being down about 2% early today...

      I also know that coal in in a slump, but ARPL seems to have something more going for it...I have not bought any of it yet, but I am watching it very close and may start some small positions in it on any share pull backs...

      Again, I am still ahead of the game, at this time (YTD), and I am not in a hurry to give any more of it back...

      More, my corn is all planted and it is looking good (about three tall) and I have it all side dressed with nitrogen (N)...however, it is very, very, dry on all of my farms for this time of the year; plus, it will be very hot this coming weekend...this is not good as I need about a inch and a half of slow rain at this time...my soybeans are not planted yet, as I am waiting for a rain to give me some decent ground moisture, so I can get a good seed germentation when I plant (also a hard rain will pack the ground and make them break there necks when the come up)...seed cost to much to have to replant...

      RNF may be a good buy at this time because of a strong pull back in share price...all the nitrogen (N) we have put on our corn crops "in May" (at about $800.00 a ton) will show up on next quarters earnings....nitrogen (N) has not been cheap, but the natural gas that nitrogen (N) is made from is very cheap (low production cost and high return)...! Keep in touch...! $tagg...!

    • Stagg, i also have a lot of dry powder. My expectation is the market will fall, especially oil(due to a strenghening dollar and Iran situation improving).
      Although cash does not make money, it does not lose any either.
      I expect to reenter the market june/july.
