    ALDW, NTI AND CVRR (again)...!

Board members...this is getting scary, all of my holdings are 'down today' and the refineries are still on the fast track....I bought them for the 'high yields' and 'never expected' anything like this, at this time I am up :

    ALDW....up 17.1%

    NTI........up 6.3%

    CVRR....up 9,9%

This is not to bad for about four weeks 'or less' returns on these holdings...! Thanks to you, william and mark...! $tagg...!

    • My investment performance will suffer if they decide to discontinue the Yahoo stock message boards. If I had not had the opportunity to read this board on Jan. 11th, I would not have bought these stocks on Jan 14th.......

      ALDW, up 25.52%
      NTI, up 7.91%

Logic and discipline say sell, but I want to have my stake when the distributions are announced.

      • Keebon, I agree that these boards are a fountain of opportunities and thoughtful discourse. If one just relied on CNBC and Cramer, you would think the entire stock market was made up of just a handful of companies. By the time, most stock opportunities are "announced" to the masses, we've already missed the runup.

As for ALDW and NTI, keep an eye on the RSI levels. It is normal for MLPs to run up prior to their distribution announcements with some pullback after (one could consider selling covered calls if they are available, but I think there is risk that you get called out early). Also, as with most MLPs, they will do periodic secondary offerings when the price increases (another reason to watch the RSI). With the refineries, we have to keep track of the crack spreads, but luckily there is a lot of discussion on that here. Finally, remember my lesson from the royalty trusts. Even if the crack spreads have not yet declined, they always could turn, Even if the dividend yield is still high on these MLPs, there will come a point when the stocks are not likely to increase further. As William said, I think a 15% yield, equating to a $35 price target on ALDW, is not out of reach.
