Regional Bks, Financials, REITS getting smacked today...

SFL seems to be trading in lock step with the DOW recently. FCX, WLL, CLMT, MSB, metals, are up...interesting Seeking Alpha article on LINE...

Scary market...at its peak now.....all this easing cannot come to any good long term, and the #$%$ contest regarding the debt ceiling continues. Hard to know what an investor is to do in this environment. Holding 20% cash and waiting for the other shoe to drop.

    • gambler...sometime it is not to hard to tell where our investments are headed...yesterday, I had a outstanding day in the markets for two reasons...First, because of the Fed's no action...and second, because of lot of my holdings were very 'oversold' (I loaded up a few day earlier)...here is an example today, at this time LINE is selling off by about 4%, but MLPL is up by about 5%...the reason for the difference between LINE and MLPL today is 9% and the reflection of investor sentiment...

We have 'way to many traders' in the markets and 'not enough long term investors', and now it don't take much to move the markets either direction (up or down)...all stocks 'should move' on news that affects 'that stock' and not over-all market sentiment (but it does not work that way)...i.e. nothing has changed with a lot of stocks in the last two days except the share price (look at all the money just made by high yield investors that got in on the cheap)...I say just buy good stocks with high yields and over the long term we should always win...! Keep the faith and keep investing...! $tagg..!

    • Gambler, there were a few divy cuts by some mREITS-- AMTG, ARR etc. Also, now that they all hedged to get ready for the Taper, their gains will be limited from the Un-Taper. As Stagg likes to say (in a different context), nothing has changed from yesterday.
On a separate note, the MLPs are on fire. That closed-end fund that I mentioned is going public next week so I'm wondering if the brokers are buying up the MLPs and front-running the fund. Should be some spo's soon to take advantage of this run-up.
