    South Korea to Invest $10 Billion in 10,000-Megawatt Nigerian Solar Plant

    JOHANNESBURG--November 27, 2012--Written by Richard Finlayson, Senior International Editor for Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) reported that HQMC Korea Company Limited (Seoul, South Korea) will invest $30 billion in solar power plants and build a 10,000-megawatt (MW) solar power plant in Nigeria. This news was reported after there was a meeting between NIPC and the CEO of HQMC, Kin Moon, who said that construction on the project is expected to start in January 2014. About 1,000 MW of capacity is scheduled to be added to the project site each year for 10 years.
