Nothing to it. Mediacom will carry TVL's signals and they will pay for it. If Medicom drops one of the big four networks and local news in one of their markets then Charter, Direct, Dish or Comcast will pick up the subs for those Mediacom customers. Cable and Sat are cut throat busiesses and oh what an advantage Mediacom would be giving their competitors by not carrying these stations.
Sorry, but Mediacom will pay. The math is simple. Medicom can pay an extra 20-30 cents per sub PER MONTH or lose that sub of 70-90 dollars PER MONTH to a competitor. Not a hard choice huh?
I just posted the news. No question it will benefit LIN. Secondly, I was amazed that Mediacom apparently isn't even paying a penny at present. This will be a nice gain in revenue. Mediacom got a lot of politicians involved last year in their battle against SBGI and FCC said nothing. The bad thing today is THESTREET.COM downgraded LIN to sell and the entire article was ridiculous.....DaninFW http://www.thestreet.com/story/11235117/1/lin-tv-corporation-stock-downgraded-tvl.html
