You think the magical GAAP accounting fairy is going to come out and make the business worthy of ownership once the bottom line is black? Come on now ... Never simply blindly follow standard number sets because they are standard ...
What every investor should be doing for every company they own is figuring out what metrics best represent the health, direction, and value of the company.
The only thing magical about your GAAP net income is that Excel will change the color for you once it's positive.
I'm waffling just slightly here. Isn't this the moment when we should be really wondering whether the "fundamentals" of this company are really in place? I'm glad to hear that the CEO is buying 5M for his kids trust, but last time he announced a purchase he didn't actually follow through for several months. Let's see if he does it. I'm staying in...but not buying anything new right now......
does anyone know why this stock is getting hammered.? I think it might have to much debt on the books 1.5 billion....right? and with the stock at 14 its market cap is 1 billion not good right? if Im wrong with any details let me know Ive contacted the vp of finance..and he was reassuring///
perspective: To be honest I'm waffling a bit too. I'm already in at much higher prices, and I definitely plan to average down (I mean what else can I do right?), but the question is how low can it go. The way this thing is trading, $10 is not out of the question.
With regards to Ron's last purchase in the Spring, I remember him saying his plans on the conference call but he also qualified his intent by saying he had to wait until the law allowed him to -- I think there was something with the pending MATR deal that prevented him from buying right away.
