Frustrating that Yahoo missed the 5:1 ADR split in late June; since then there have been 10 shares to an ADR not 50! So all Yahoo's per-share info is 5x too high, and this stock keeps coming up on every screen I run. SEC filing:http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1048098/000119312508144006/d6k.htm
YIELD CURRENTLY 4.85%Yes, it is infuriating that Yahoo! is not better managed. The same applies to several other sources.E*Trade says the yield is 4.85% (declared dividend of USD 0.2473 at yesterday's closing price of USD 5.10).Nevertheless, a yield around 5%, compared to 25%, suggests a lower risk of a dividend cut which obviously would have further eroded the price. Capital gain is the thing to believe in.
so the divi yield isnt around 19% to current price?but rather 25 cents:5 = 5 cents a year? that would be only 5% yield to current price...
The most accurate YZC stats look like they are at:http://finance.google.com/finance?q=NYSE%3AYZCThat shows:Yield: 4.94
Yeah that's my understanding of the filing. The dividend yield on the H shares comes out like you said, 4% or 5%.
