Sorry to hear about the loss of your saving for your mother. Don't use saving money for stocks. For your future saving, invest in low earning but guarranteed return funds if you don't want to take risk (and should not take risk when your are 50 and older). Use un-needed money to gamble. I learnt my lesson hard way.
Let me add one thing. When I bought those Ashanti shares , it was money I had saved for my mother for her retirement. I brought it to America from Germany and invested it in gold for safety reason. The Ashanti contract obligations came as a total surprise, wiped out the safety savings for my mother and the word Ashanti left a very bad taste in my mouth.
My mother is now 96 and never missed a dime from this loss.
Well at least I did not make that Ashanti something completely up:
Donald C. Ewigleben was appointed President, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer and a director of Uranium Resources, Inc. in September 2009. Previously, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of AngloGold Ashanti North America and served as the Executive Officer – Sustainability & Legal Affairs for AngloGold Ashanti in the Americas. Mr. Ewigleben served as the Executive Officer – Law, Safety, Health & Environment for AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2006 and 2007
That Ashanti just went with me like this:
Ashanti!!! What??? He had something to do with Ashanti??? Wait a minute. LOL LOL
