Which are the best brokerage firms to trade through?

Was looking to get another brokerage firm besides my current one...TDAmeritrade. Looked at E-trade...its owns stock has gotten punished in the last 1.5 years for some reason. How about Schwab or Fidelity? Any insight greatly appreciated.

    • If you're systematically putting money in (I haven't used it to trade, but it's $9 I think) then I like ING Sharebuilder. I joined by finding out about it at Costco. You go there and put in your card or code, and they give you $60 (I think) after your first trade. You put in an order by monday at 3 and on Tuesday they make the trade for $4. Again, you don't control the price/limits or anything. But you can also use it to trade. Not sure if that's what you're looking for. I also have a TD Ameritrade acct.
