Great Book. Quite fitting.
Any thoughts on the upcoming movie?
"One of Rand’s most famous devotees is Alan Greenspan, the former chairman of the Federal Reserve, whose memoir, “The Age of Turbulence,” will be officially released Monday.
Mr. Greenspan met Rand when he was 25 and working as an economic forecaster. She was already renowned as the author of “The Fountainhead,” a novel about an architect true to his principles. Mr. Greenspan had married a member of Rand’s inner circle, known as the Collective, that met every Saturday night in her New York apartment. Rand did not pay much attention to Mr. Greenspan until he began praising drafts of “Atlas,” which she read aloud to her disciples, according to Jeff Britting, the archivist of Ayn Rand’s papers. He was attracted, Mr. Britting said, to “her moral defense of capitalism.” Harriet Rubin '07
you are kidding right? This is an old book. She was Alan Greenspans mentor. Rand was known as a psuedo intellectual. In other words not intellectual. An old trick to get a book published is to write what publishers want to here. Greenspan was no doubt a good connection to get a book published albeit a foolish one.
Ah, Missouri..the people at Little Brown might take issue with that. Old..new..fresh off the presses, it's content that counts. Not age. Oh, check with Time Warner as well. They'll back me up.
just for perspective, I heard Paul Allen spends more money on his yacht/sub maintenance than the average millionaire will make in a LIFETIME.
Get some perspective people.
Great book and so today. Read it a second time after Obama started socializing America.
"Our plan? We put into practice that noble historic precept: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need. Rewards were based on need, and penalties on ability." - Plan of the looters. Pushed by the moochers. From Atlas Shrugged.
This book seems more and more realistic everyday...
Yeah the kennedy clan would still have been rich and have a president for one main reason. You can't change fate of ones destiny.
A great book .My dad read it before me and gave me his copy.Outstanding reading.
isn't that an x-rated comic book??
Lousy book pumped by reactionary crackerheads.

Hey Mr Meercat,
Sorry if I set you off. Just my opinions. I never met Ayn or her husband, just some of her close friends. I was an Objectivist right out of High School and into College until I grew up.
Oh well. We learn.
I feel your post was mistakenly attached to mine as I refered to nothing you spoke of. But maybe you are so rational and selfish that you cannot see what is on the paper because you are so engrosed with the thoughts running around in your head.
I have news for you. Not all those thoughts are "yours".
Just the same, I bet you cannot prove to me via reason that your consciousness really exists or that it is spearate from mine. And I know that 'separate' is important to you. Just try.
Have a nice day, :)
Chakra Bliss
P.S. I forgot this is a financial give and take, so I suggest that one might look at this stock long term after the market tanks again, one last time to new lows.
