When I was 21 I wanted to invest 5k all I had into Apple at around $20 a share. Not a day goes by that I don't kick myself for not trusting my instincts and doing so. I put it in a safe CD's and Mutual funds. That now cost my tens of thousands in hind sight. I say invest your 2k in it. I think Brk-B is a strong stock in 2-3yrs hopefully it will have gone up enough were you can take you 2k out and still own some shares in brk-b and let them keep rolling. Don't listen to the nay sayers. Do your homework get everyone's opinion and do what you feel is best but now all the risks first.
Get level 2 options trading and do a Jan 2012 LEAP.
That's two years within ur investing time frame and you have more leverage since 2000 can really make a big profit,.. Otherwise, if you just want to buy shares, the guys are right, it should be held for a loong time.
Well Vick...your post says your 21, your profile says your 22 and you're seeking investment advice on a yahoo message board.
Here's my advice:
1. Don't seek advice on message boards. You'll be disappointed.
2. Check your driver's license. It will have your date of birth on it.
